Gratitude to David Renaud
12/08/2009 11:01 AM
I was thinking about the many photos David Renaud took of me that day with a profound sense of gratitude regarding his allowing my use of these photos for my website. He’s got a wonderful compilation of photos called “Yoga People” that he’s taken in and around the Tahoe area. You can find his gallery here.
On this website, where I use his photos, I will be sure to include a link back to his page.
Mine were taken on a rock in the middle of the Yuba River at the Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort, on my favorite meditation rock.
Some of these poses were VERY difficult to get- especially the headstand & scorpion poses on this very uneven rock. Look what a great progression David captured:

I was terribly afraid of having my first ever ‘asian exit’, where I fell over toward my back. I call it the Asian Exit because many asians are very flexible in their backs and so often tend to fall out of the headstand and scorpion poses by lightly landing on their feet, getting up and trying again. I didn’t have ANY room to do that, because my first Asian Exit would have meant getting wet in freezing cold water!
Luckily, David’s a true professional photographer, and managed to get the shot in the brief moments I could hold the position.
Thanks David!
