Aspects of Nature

This graphic shows the relationships of
all the aspects of nature, as prescribed by Ayurveda and Samkhya
philosophy.
Essentially, the three Gunas are viewed as things (a view that a pure Vedantin would debate) and chemistry is done on them. It is said in the Bhagavad Gita that: “Purusha is the knower of the field; Prakriti is the field”. Purusha means cosmic ‘man’ or ‘person’. This is an embodied representation of the male principle of consciousness. ‘Pra’ meaning first and ‘kri’ meaning ‘to do’. When one is born, your life comes from the union of those two. This is similar to the concepts of Shiva and Shakti.
The three colors rotating around between the three aspects of nature are called the three ropes of Maya, all of which are to be transcended in the end of the yogi’s spiritual path or samadhi. Maya is not true or untrue, since only Brahman is the true Reality, it cannot be true, indeed, it’s very existence is not acknowledged. Nothing is happening.
